Sunday, October 12th 8 AM to 8 PM

Each Fall West Chester’s 40 Days for life sets aside October 12th to show appreciation for all that the Knights of Columbus and the King’s Men have done and continually do in protecting and supporting the unborn and their families. We encourage all Knights of Columbus men and King’s Men to come to Planned Parenthood on October 12th to pray for an hour or two wearing their organizations insignia. It give them the opportunity to profess their beliefs openly and remind all men that abortion is not just a women issue as all men are the authors of life as God has designed them to be.

It was one Knight of Columbus man who learned later in life that he was scheduled to be aborted, who encouraged and helped David Bereit to embark on the very first 40 Days Campaign.

in front of Planned Parenthood  –  October 4th

Because of your overwhelming support of our first 40 Days for Life Baby Shower in front of Planned Parenthood, 8th S. Wayne St. in West Chester, we will conduct our 2nd Annual Baby Shower on October 4th from 10 AM to 2 PM. We will continue to support Chester County Women Services and the Birthrights in West Chester and Coatesville.

Besides helping these organizations to carry out their missions, the baby shower made a very positive impact on the local community. We did not receive one negative response during the entire 4 hours we were out in front of PP with the strollers and baby items.  People passing by seeing other people dropping off their items generated spontaneous generosity as a few cars stopped and gave us monetary donations. One man even left and came back with baby items that he had just purchased for us.

Seeing diapers and baby items changes the abstract word of “abortion” to the reality that “children” are present not “choices”.

Baby diapers, wipes and all other baby items up to size 4, that you can think of, are welcomed. It is very hard to supply the needs of the baby only when another little one in need is looking on.  Dollar store items are always welcomed!  Gently used clothing is also welcomed. We also have an outlet for baby toys and books. . The parents are asked to return the clothing when it is outgrown. So your gift is a gift that keeps on giving. The needs never surpass the donations.

We know that you support many other worthy causes and that is why we are so thankful for your support of this yearly event.

40 Days For Life image

in front of PLANNED PARENTHOOD

Since the inception of 40 Days For Life, 8,973+ babies have been saved. 34 of those babies were saved right in West Chester. The three major components of 40 Days are prayer and fasting, community outreach and peaceful vigil.  Public witness and praying in front of PP is the most effect way to saves lives. To increase the number of prayer warriors which increases the numbers of babies saved, 40 Days For Life has created a new website It is very comprehensive and has many informative videos now.

We all became involved with 40 Days through an invitation. Please, invite others to pray with you and encourage others to visit the new 40 Days website. has also been recreated for your ease in using the local vigil schedule and finding out what exactly is going on right in West Chester.

If you are comfortable praying in church, you will be comfortable praying in front of PP as the community has accept public prayer in front of West Chester’s PP since the early 1970’s. An hour of prayer could mean a lifetime for a baby.

We are opening the 15th Campaign with a candlelight prayer service in front of PP at 6 pm to 8 pm on September 24th.  Candles are a way of bringing respect to those babies that die right there. We are bringing the light of Christ to the darkest place in our community. We will pray for the success of all 40 Days campaigns worldwide that many hearts and minds may be changed. We will pray for the parents who also became victims of abortion. Candles will be provided but it helps to bring a flashlight as the weather does not always cooperate.
