40 Days For Life image

February 18th – Ash Wednesday
through
March 29th – Palm Sunday
OPENING – Ecumenical Candlelight Prayer Service in front of Planned Parenthood
February 18th  7 PM to 8 PM

The focus of our prayers will be in thanksgiving for the miraculous events at the Bryan/College Station Planned Parenthood abortion facility.  That is the facility at which the first 40 days campaign was conducted. They have since closed their doors, their director has become a prolife activist, and the building has become host to several prolife organizations.

ALSO : THE “40” MOVIE  (www.the40film.com) will be shown on February 18th, Ash Wednesday after the 8:30 AM and 7:30 PM Masses at Ss. Phillip and James Church 107 North Ship Road, Exton, Pa 19341
All are welcome!
For more information contact Patrick Baker, pajbaker@verizon.net or 610-647-0779

MIDWAY – Prayer and Praise Service in front of Planned Parenthood Saturday, March 14th – 1 PM to 2 PM
Thomas and Jenny Ackerman will lead us in prayer and praise.

FEAST OF ST. JOSEPH – Prayer and Public Witness in front of Planned Parenthood Thursday, March 19th 8AM to 8 PM
All men, especially, the Knights of Columbus and Kings Men are invited to come and pray for an hour in front of Planned Parenthood on the feast day of St. Joseph. Many babies are destroyed when men turn away from their roles as husbands and fathers. Come and pray in front of Planned Parenthood giving public example that men care and accept the responsibility of  fatherhood. Please e-mail me the hours you plan on witnessing for the children to the community as my husband and I try to fill in the hours that are not taken that day.

CLOSING  – Stations of the Cross in front of Planned Parenthood
March 29th – Palm Sunday 2 PM to 3 PM
Our Lord suffered and died to make reparation for the sins of humanity.  Consequently, the devotions to the Stations of the Cross is most appropriate to be said in front of Planned Parent where the shedding of innocent blood is practiced.
Thank you and God Bless

God’s plan for living happy, health, holy lives from beginning to end.

The Respect Life Committee of St. Peter Church is sponsoring a series of monthly talks from October 25, 2014 through April 26, 2015.  All presentations will be held at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Rd., West Brandywine, PA 19320.

There is no fee and reservations are not needed.  The schedule currently includes:

March 22, 2015     TRUE LOVE . . . HOW WILL I KNOW?  (For 9 – 12 grade)

and

PARENTS GET REAL!  TALK TO YOUR TEENS ABOUT LOVE (Adults)

Presented by Patty Schneier, a Catholic housewife and mother of three. After her challenge “Prove it God!” . . . And He Did, the results were life changing.  She will invite teens to learn the meaning of real love and will address the many pressures they face.

For parents, she offers practical tips to help them discuss the Truth about love and will equip them to be pro-active when it comes to the moral issues teens face.  There will be two presentations:

High School students (grades 9 – 12) at 1:30 pm.            Adults at 4:00 pm.

April, 26, 2015       HOW TO TALK ABOUT MARRIAGE, SAME SEX UNIONS and  OTHER TOUGH MORAL ISSUES

Presented by Trent Horn, an apologist with Catholic Answers.  There will be two presentations:                Youth   1:30 pm                     Adults  4:00 pm

In these talks Trent shows audiences how to defend Catholic teaching on three tough issues, abortion, same-sex “marriage,” and contraception.  Trent will give you the tools you need to make a powerful, non-religious case against redefining marriage that would include same-sex couples.  Most importantly, you’ll learn how to charitably answer the objections of those who disagree with you and be able to explain why the Church’s positions on marriage, abortion and contraception are reasonable and compassionate.

Jean Emplit

Jean Emplit receiving the Public Witness Award from Jo Christof

The 22nd Chester County March for Life was a rousing success.  The opening prayer was led by Reverend Father Mina Shaheid, a Coptic Orthodox priest.  It was followed by inspirational talks by Bishop Shanahan students Philip Tran and Mary Kate Prieto and by our main speaker who had just returned from China and told us about the problems resulting from their “One Child” policy.

There were patriotic and religious songs led by the Gies family.  Our annual Public Witness award was given to Jean Emplit for her faithfulness in prayer at Planned Parenthood and for her leadership in arranging for and supporting the Adoption billboard on the PA turnpike.

The closing prayer was led by Pastor Don Britton Of the Stoneybrook Community Church in Glen Mills.

Following the program many of the pro-lifers marched to the old Courthouse for a short prayer service.

After which, there was a social at the Knights of Columbus hall in West Chester.

It was a cold and dark evening in a small, backwater town that nobody really cared about. The light from the stars overhead cast a shadow on the young family, revealing the anxiety etched in the face of the man and the exhaustion of the woman as they went from door to door, looking for a respite from the night and a place for her to give birth. She was in labor with her first child but no place for them was to be found. Panic and desperation was laced in the man’s voice as he made an appeal to the final innkeeper. What a strange little family this was. The innkeeper, seeing the distress in their faces, led them behind his inn to a stable in which he offered them meager hospitality. In that stable, in the dead of the night, the Son of God was born! What a strange and unexpected way to begin the redemption of humanity!

Unfortunately, we don’t always honor the exalted dignity of the human person as revealed in the incarnation. Our century has seen some of the most horrifying violations against human life. However, amidst the darkness, the light shines even brighter. The Culture Project is an initiative of young people seeking to restore the culture through the experience of virtue. We proclaim the dignity of the human person and the richness of living sexual integrity, inviting our culture to become fully alive. We seek a culture in which that dignity is upheld in every relationship, law, and societal structure, and the human experience is imbued by the rich life of virtue, especially sexual virtue. Through dialogue and encounter, we believe we can restore our culture, one person at a time.

In the Philadelphia area alone, The Culture Project has given over 30 talks this fall to young people in the classroom, in youth groups and in other young adult settings. The responses have been very encouraging! One high school girl commented:
“My outlook on life and what I want to do with my time on earth has been altered by just one meeting with The Culture Project Team. I have been to many talks and events about human dignity and self-worth but The Culture Project really hit home and changed my perspective on life.”

Join us in our work of restoring the culture of life! All donations given to The Culture Project before January 15, 2015 are matched dollar for dollar. Your participation will make a huge impact.

Donations can be mailed to The Culture Project International PO Box 86 Wynnewood, PA 19096, or made online at www.restoreculture.com/donation. For questions or more information, please contact Emily Ortiz at eortiz@restoreculture.com or (248) 914-1265.

Dr. Monique Ruberu, standing her first 40 Days for Life this Fall, worked alongside Patrick Stanton at one of the most active abortion facilities in Philadelphia. Because of their work, some 22 women did not go into the clinic for services, and out of that group 6 babies were saved.  Dr. Ruberu spoke at the Alpha Pregnancy fund raiser dinner.  Because of her presentations, she was able to sign up 50 more people to help fill the rest of the 40 Days for Life campaign.

She is a strong supporter of natural family planning, and is specializing in Creighton fertility care and Napro Technology services.

If you are interested in her professional help, please reach out to her.  Contact information is:
