To All: From Our Lady of Guadalupe’s message—“Am I not your Mother”
This year Catholics will participate in the solemnity of the World Meeting of Families as directed by Pope Francis.
The events of this World Meeting of Families will happen in Philadelphia September 21-27, highlighted by the Papal Visit of Pope Francis on September 25 and the Papal Mass on Sunday, September 26.
In preparation, beginning on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, an initiative of devotion to Mary, the Patroness of America, has begun.
Reviewing the promise Mary made to St. Juan Diego, that she wished to exhibit her love, help and protection and that these benefits extended to all who invoke her gifts, a family devotional therefore is undertaken.
What we are proposing is that the pro-life community, in each participating parish, purchase an image, or statue, of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which would pass from family to family for one week duration. The family hosting Our Lady would recite a nightly Rosary, in the presence of the icon. Our intentions will be to pray for Our Holy Father Pope Francis, the protection of Families, Marriage and the Sanctity of Life. The name given to this devotion is the Pilgrim Queen. The passing of the icon could be accomplished at Mass on Sunday.
This devotional, besides preparing for the advent of graces that come from a Papal Visit, has in its intention, the intense strengthening of the Family.
Are we not in desperate need now of help with our families here in America?
We request your “yes” to this effort and in doing so trust in Mary’s promises.
The end of the culture of death, the end of abortion can only be overcome through the help of Our Blessed Mother.
