Never in our history has the pro-life movement faced an election where the difference between the potential outcomes was so stark.  Given her commitment to appointing pro-abortion justices, a victory by Hillary Clinton would have put the demise of Roe v. Wade out of reach for decades.  All of us would have been required to witness the long march of our nation from Judeo-Christianity to secularism. More and more of us like the Little Sisters of the Poor would be pressured to participate in it.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, has committed to appointing pro-life justices in the mold of Justice Scalia.  His victory, along with a Congress likely to confirm his selections, gives us hope that we will achieve a Supreme Court more accepting of, not only pro-life views, but also more respectful of the religious liberty of our citizens.

In addition to the effort of the political workers, pro-lifers and other people of Faith prayed and fasted intensely for this result.  We must not be like the nine lepers who never looked back, but we must pause and offer a huge THANK GOD.

Our goal, the end of abortion, is much closer than it would have been, but it is still a long way off.  EVERYBODY GET BACK TO WORK.
