Hillary Clinton has promised that any justices she appoints to the Supreme Court will be pro-abortion. Donald Trump has promised that any justices he appoints will be pro-life. The age and health of the present justices make it likely that there will likely be three or four openings to be filled in the next four years.

At a speech to the Women in the World Conference in April 2015, Hillary Clinton argued, “Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care (aka. abortion) and safe childbirth, and laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” In order to expand worldwide access to abortion, she suggested that “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”

A Hillary Clinton victory would virtually guarantee that none of us will live to see the end of the scourge of abortion in our country.
In order to have a chance at overturning Roe v. Wade or passing any pro-life legislation we need a pro-life president and pro-life legislatures. All of the Republican candidates who would represent Chester County in Washington are pro-life; all of the Democrats are pro-abortion. Please think of the babies when you vote.

There is an organization based in Arlington, Virginia called Crossroads which was founded in 1995 by Steve Sanborn, then a student at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. The now-international organization was launched in response to a call by St. John Paul II during World Youth Day in Denver in 1993 — that youth around the globe take an active role in the pro-life movement “to establish a culture of life.”
For several years, the organization has sponsored three simultaneous pro-life walks/pilgrimages across the United States; a fourth takes place in Canada.
This year’s three U.S. walks — northern, central and southern — started May 21-22 in Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles, respectively. The U.S. walkers ended their sojourn Aug. 11-12 in Washington, with a pro-life rally on Aug. 13.
One of our local pro-lifers, Briana Zembruski, a May graduate of Franciscan University, a Catholic school in Steubenville, Ohio, said she was moved to participate in the walk by encounters with women who had undergone abortions.
She recalled attending a pro-life rally in front of a clinic where abortions were performed when she was in high school. She saw a childhood friend going in.
“Now, I’m walking for people like that,” Zembruski said.

40 Days For Life image

America is at a crossroads and the second half of 2016 provides an unprecedented opportunity to accelerate the end of abortion. Many good people are still not aware of the plight of the unborn and the impact abortion has on our country. When our country was unraveling in our past history, our forefathers turned to prayer.
This Fall 40 Days for Life Campaign is uniting all 50 of the United States simultaneously in prayer, fasting and public witnessing. All 50 states have previously held campaigns contributing to the saving of 11,796+ babies but never before have all 50 states participated in one campaign.

All are welcome to share in a pizza lunch. Videos and testimonies to educate and share the joys of choosing life. Your attendance will encourage others to step up and witness and pray in front of Planned Parenthood.

Twenty years ago, on August 6, 1996, Planned Parenthood of West Chester began destroying unborn children on 8th S. Wayne St. For 20 years, and continuing to the present, every Tuesday an entire classroom of children are obliterated at the West Chester’s Planned Parenthood abortion facility. This Planned Parenthood is responsible for the deaths of over 20,000 children and counting.
Ironically, the borough of West Chester’s population consistently averages out to be approximately 20,000 residents. These two statistics gives a visual conception of the loss this particular Planned Parenthood is perpetrating upon our nation.
By putting our concern in action, our baby shower brings attention to some of the joys of life. From 10 AM to 2 PM we will be walking with baby strollers and balloons celebrating life in front of Planned Parenthood. Stop by and walk with us and help us fill up the strollers.
Also, please, encourage your churches and organizations to participate in this event. Dollar Store items are more than welcome. Also, larger size diapers are always in need. Used clothing items up to age 4 is also a blessing. If you are collecting items, I am more than willing to come and pick them up at your convenience anytime or place if you cannot visit PP on Saturday. All proceeds are shared with Chester County Women Services, Birthright in West Chester and Birthright in Coatesville.
40 Days for Life is always aided by pregnancy centers in so many ways. This is a great way to show our appreciation and help lighten their burdens in their helping of the mothers and babies. Rain or shine we will be there.

Men of faith have been an intricate part of the success of 40 Days for life since its inception. Their visibility from organizations such as the Knight’s of Columbus, King’s Men, and all who profess the Gospel of Life have had a tremendous success in saving the lives of many unborn children.

To reach as many people as possible at this crucial time in the history of the United States, 40 Days For Life will close this Fall Campaign by carrying the 57 white Memorial crosses though the borough of West Chester stopping at the old courthouse.
We will gather in the back parking lot of St. Agnes’ Catholic Church, 233 W. Gay St. at 2 PM.
Each person will be asked to carry one white cross representing 1 million babies lost to abortion. We will be processing in silence giving reverence to those lost to abortion and praying in thanksgiving for the opportunities that we have to offer help and hope to women in crisis pregnancies and to pray for those who regret their involvement with an abortion as there is hope and healing for them also
We will conclude the procession at the Knight of Columbus Hall, 110 W. Market Street. A light lunch will be served in appreciation for your participation in 40 Days and making this Memorial Procession possible.
This is a great event to invite those that have not yet participated in a 40 Days for Life event as they will have the opportunity to meet other people who have a concern for the unborn and their families. All are welcome.

IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO AS YET, PLEASE SIGN UP ON where all the updates and podcasts are available to you. If possible log in your planned vigil hours. God Bless and continue to pray for the success of this Fall Campaign.

It has been said that, “one man’s death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.” As the number of tragedies increases, at some point, our minds become saturated and we have difficulty comprehending.  The 57 million babies who have been killed since the Roe v. Wade decision fall into that category.

Even when thinking about it locally, it is overwhelming. The above table shows, year-by-year, the number of babies that have been killed at the West Chester office of Planned Parenthood.  The number, 18,903, still boggles the mind.

If we consider a single average week, 19 babies are killed at the West Chester Planned Parenthood. That is the equivalent of the Sandy Hook classroom shooting happening every Tuesday morning. John Donne famously said, “Every man’s death diminishes me.”  We are all diminished by these 19 deaths – every week.  They are 19 holes in the fabric of our lives – every week.  What is an appropriate response?

We pray for the babies, their parents and our community We ask God for the grace of repentance and healing for all of us.  The following are two responses to the deaths:

Helpers of God’s Precious Infants

One response to the killings is provided by the Helpers of God’ Precious Infants.  On the First Saturday of each month at St. Agnes Church, West Chester. The 8:00 a.m. Mass is dedicated to the Pro-Life cause.  It is followed by a Rosary Pilgrimage to Planned Parenthood.  After which, there is a short meeting in the school cafeteria.

40 Days For Life image

Another response to the killing is provided by the Forty Days for Life group. They organize two campaigns a year where they maintain a prayerful presence in front of Planned Parenthood for twelve hours each day for 40 days.  Their fall camaign will be starting on September 28.

Part of the campaign will include a baby shower to collect baby clothes for Birthright and Chester County Women’s services. Please start collecting what you can.

Need Your Help - Adoption billboard

Need Your Help!

Dearest Friends,

The National Council for Adoption estimates 1.3 million couples are waiting to adopt a child. Yet each year, while 1.3 million children are being killed by abortion, less than 50,000 new children are made available for adoption. This means that for every new adoptable child, thirty others are killed and for every couple that adopts, another forty wait in line.

The good news is…TOGETHER…pro-lifers have made a concerted effort over the last 8 years to overcome the negative spin on adoption. I hope you will agree that our positive message on the PA Turnpike portrays adoption as a courageous choice, one that will give life to a child and to a family.

We know that pro-choice ends up meaning NO CHOICE but adoption offers a choice that is compassionate and in everyone’s best interest.

I believe that this Billboard has touched lives and moved hearts in ways we will never fully understand in this world. That’s why it is so important to support this project for LIFE!

Let me assure you that every single penny donated to this effort is deposited into a separate billboard account and the monies used exclusively for the monthly contract obligation.

God Bless ALL,

Helen MacMinn
